She started blaming me for my insurance instead of trying to help their customer. He tried his best with his oral hygiene but still smelled like someone had dumped mint on rotting meat. He also had persistent pain despite multiple trips to other dentists. Finally, one weekend his dental pain got so bad that we went to the emergency dentist. She and her staff were much more thorough than previous dentists and discovered that he had a massive infection, two crumbling teeth, and part of his jaw had rotted away. She removed all the rotted infected bits and gave him a bone graft. Within two weeks, the pain was completely gone, and his breath no longer stinks. Don’t expect a high-tech office with all the latest gadgetry (some of which you might actually want); but do expect an experienced and professional team that focuses on an efficient, effective, thorough treatment. Dr. Atwood saw me after I had four teeth mashed up: chips, cracks, knocked out of position. He’s a bit of a character: looks like he just woke up, walked off the set of M.A.S.H. But I came in with basically shattered teeth; could not even close my mouth. Went out with my teeth fixed up and in place… And the expectation that I might not keep them anyway: Really appreciated the no B.S. reality of the situation, and actionable short term techniques to maximize chances of a better outcome. Wish they were in network with my insurance. For follow-up treatment during normal office hours I will go to a place with 3D imaging and other advanced diagnostics, as well as alternatives to root canal. Did the comprehensive exam, my insurance cover's one per year. Found several problems, got quoted 9000 plus to fix it. But they office only does insurance plans through affirm or sunbit. They do not just allow payments plans directly through their office. When I got home called the UW school of dentistry and another dentist a friend recommended in Northgate. They both can do the service. Both of them WILL accept payments plans directly through their clinic and not force you to use a credit company. But now I need to wait till the new year because this company used my one comprehensive exam for the year. $50 and an hour or so wasted. If you have a dental emergency I'd just go through a local ER and ask to see their on staff oral surgeon at this point. Super rude. When I was explaining what I needed help with, she didn’t listen at all and answered as if she was just trying to sell me on services. I explained and she just cut me off and said it doesn’t matter what you need help with, we will need to do an exam and that will be $75 unless you want to use your insurance, you’d have to use one of your yearly exams to just be seen. A whole yearly exam just to be seen and not be given a cleaning or anything?! Ridiculous. Just no customer service skills at all.
