Dr. Charles H. Chen, DDS

Highly recommended. I hadn't been to the dentist in a long time and Dr. Chen made me feel extremely comfortable during the whole visit. He is very professional and gentle during the procedures unlike other dentists I've been to. Once we figured out what work I needed to have done, his staff were very insightful with my insurance plan, and helped me prioritize the work so that it worked best with my budget. I've been going ever since to finish my work and I'm never disappointed.

I have been going to Dr. Chen for about 8 years. I think he is a *very* good dentist. Most of the time his fees are low enough to be fully paid by Blue Cross! (The fees of other Evanston dentists I have gone to were not..) He does most of the cleaning himself very quickly. The price is reasonable. There is rarely much of a wait. We have had no problems with billing, insurance, etc. That being said, some members of my family don't like him because they feel he is too rough in the cleaning and/or doesn't emphasize preventative-care enough. Another patient suggested (on Yelp) that one should avoid Dr. Chen for any procedure requiring skill. I disagree. I think that Dr. Chen is *especially* strong in areas requiring real skill. I have had fillings, crowns, and root canals performed by Dr. Chen. Of course, things sometimes don't go as planned, but I have found his judgment and skill to be exceptional.

I had a complicated case with my wisdom teeth, the roots were very deep and the theeth were impacted. Dr. Chen did a wonderful job on explaining the procedure steps and was very kind making my experience painless and short. I highly recommend this place bc was Fast and high quality service. All costs were clearly explained up front and the staff was super friendly.

I can't belive I acually liked my root canal experience. It was painless comparing to what they did at different office ! I am so glad I finally found a painless dentist .
