Alki Dental

Acabo de empezar a ir a Alki Dental. Me dieron un presupuesto en otra clínica por una corona y era exorbitante, además no aceptaban mi seguro dental, así que el costo habría sido casi todo de mi bolsillo. Decidí buscar otras opciones. Alki Dental destacó para lo que necesitaba. Mi presupuesto fue mucho más bajo e incluía otra corona y una obturación. En ese momento me convencieron. ¿Por qué no? Alki Dental es muy agradable, profesional y, lo mejor de todo, aceptan mi seguro "Delta Dental". La Dra. Park es una excelente dentista; me ajustó las coronas temporales a la perfección, lo que fue un alivio comparado con mi dentista anterior. El personal es profesional y me explicó todo sobre el proceso. No le di 5 estrellas porque soy paciente nuevo y aún no termino con el proceso de las coronas. Pero hasta ahora, todo bien.I just started going to Alki Dental. I had a price quote at another clinic on a Crown and it was outrageous and they didn't accept my dental insurance, so the cost would primarily be out of pocket. I decided to shop around. Alki Dental stood out for my needs. My quote was way lower, and it included another crown and filling. I was sold at that point. Why not ? Alki Dental is very nice, professional, and best of all they take my insurance "Delta Dental" Dr Park is a very good dentist she fit my temporary crowns perfectly which was a relief compared to my last dentist. The staff is professional and explained everything about the process. I didn't give a 5 star, because I am a new patient and not completed with my crown process. Although all the staff were kind, the biggest issue is that there are no dental hygienists at this practice. The dentist cleaned my teeth for a few minutes and they had the assistant follow up with doing the rest. A dental cleaning is a job that needs high level oral health education and hygiene certification. Even the most competent dentists know that they cannot do the best cleanings, because dental cleanings are such highly specialized skill set. Tuve que reemplazar 2 coronas. La primera visita fue complicada porque me pusieron mucha agua en la boca para enjuagar. La asistente dental no mantuvo la varita de succión en el lugar correcto y en ocasiones me ahogaba por el agua. En la segunda visita para colocar la corona, la asistente empezó a ajustar las coronas y estropeó una de ellas. El dentista intentó arreglarla, pero no pudo. Durante esa visita no me pusieron anestesia para adormecer la zona y me causaron mucho dolor. Finalmente, después de varios intentos, me la pusieron. (Simplemente háganlo desde el principio, como práctica general). En esa visita, tuve que pedirle a la asistente que me tomara la presión arterial (requerida para la anestesia). La primera vez falló por un equipo defectuoso y la segunda por las pilas. La tercera vez me la tomó mientras estaba de pie y luego me dijo que tenía la presión alta. Cuando lo consulté en línea, decía que no se debe tomar de pie porque da resultados anormales. Tuve que volver una tercera vez para que me colocaran la corona que había salido mal en la segunda visita. Insistí en que me pusieran anestesia y la visita salió bien. Le doy un 2 porque la dentista estuvo bien, pero debería haberme puesto la anestesia y errar en el lado del confort del paciente.I had 2 crowns replaced. The first visit was trying as they put a lot of water in my mouth for rinsing. The dental assistant did not keep the suction wand in the right place and at times I was choking because of water. The second visit to put the crown in the dental assistant started fitting the crowns and messed up one of the crowns. The dentist tried to fix it, but to no avail. During that visit, they did not use a shot to numb the area and caused me a great deal of pain. Finally after several iterations, they gave me the shot. (Just do it to begin with, as general practice) During that visit, I had to tell the assistant to give me a blood pressure reading (required for the shot). The first one failed due to faulty equipment and the second due to batteries. The third one he took while I was standing up and then told me I had high blood pressure. When I checked this online, it said you aren't suppose to take standing up as it will cause unusual results. I had to go back a third time to get the crown put it that was messed up on the second visit. I insisted on getting a shot to numb and the visit went fine. I'll give a 2 as the dentist was fine, but she should have given the shots and errored on the side of comfort for the patient.Comentario traducidoVer original

First off the location is great if you want a view of the beach while you get your mouth worked on! Doesn’t hurt to have a nice view! Secondly, the staff were all great! From the front desk being super friendly and helpful to the DA being kind and very reassuring. The dentist themselves also was great, I had recommendations from her that were necessary and not from a viewpoint of wanting to sell another service. She also prevented me from having to unnecessarily do a procedure that in the past other dentists have been eager to get me to "fix". I felt welcomed, heard, and assured.
