It’s refreshing to walk into a medical office and be greeted with smiles. They’ve truly gone above and beyond for me, and I especially appreciate how easy it is to communicate with them by text. The hygienists are just as wonderful. They’ve helped ease my dental anxiety, always treat me with patience and compassion, and take the time to explain everything clearly so I feel comfortable and informed. I wasn’t expecting to have any work done, but Dr. Tarasova was able to fill my cavities quickly and painlessly — I was in and out in under an hour and still made it to my next appointment. We contacted the office simply to follow up on required paperwork related to VA Community Care. We explained that if documentation is completed properly and submitted on time, it helps prevent delays in care—something especially important given the pain I am currently dealing with. Instead of working with us, the interaction became unprofessional. The staff was dismissive, and the doctor later returned the call and spoke in a rude and disrespectful manner to my wife. We were labeled as "pushy" for calmly explaining how the VA process works and referencing required timelines. Following this interaction, Dr. Schwartz stated that he would be terminating my care and would no longer see me as a patient. This has left me without a provider and delayed my ability to receive necessary treatment. Additionally, the wisdom tooth that I was told needed to be extracted did not hurt prior to my visit, but began causing pain after I left the office, which raises concerns about the overall quality of care. To be clear, we were simply trying to ensure proper documentation so my treatment would not be delayed. If a provider chooses to participate in VA Community Care and accept those contracts, there should be an understanding of the required processes and timelines. Veterans should not be met with hostility for advocating for their care. Being spoken to disrespectfully—especially toward my wife—was completely unacceptable. This experience reflects a lack of professionalism, communication, and accountability.
