The worst experience I’ve ever had at a dentists office. Do NOT go here. At my appointment with Dr. Pham in November 2025 he said I would need to see a specialist, but that if I couldn’t he could do the root canal as long as I understand it may fail. The specialist was four hours away, and due to family emergencies and a wreck I had from bad weather, I unfortunately wasn’t able to go as previously planned. I scheduled my appointment for a root canal with Dr. Pham in January 2026, then due to a snow storm, the office closed and they rescheduled my appointment for February (the closest appointment they had) after the huge snow storm, and now, I finally get to my appointment today for them to tell me they wouldn’t do my root canal because of my anxiety AFTER Dr Pham fully numbed me and then decided to tell me I couldn’t handle the root canal because I cried a little. I do have anxiety but I’ve been regularly going to a dentist up until a few years ago. They’ve always worked with me if I cried during a shot but apparently he won’t. I cannot even chew on the right side of my mouth and the shots they’ve given me has made it harder to eat. If I could give 0 stars I definitely would.

Just had a root canal on two of my frontal teeth and I've experienced no pain. The dentists were very kind and welcoming and handled the procedure with professionalism and proper care. If anyone needs a root canal or dental crown, I highly recommend 5 star dental!

Horrible dental work. Drilled into a good tooth to make my teeth fit better when mouth closed. Drilled too deep on a cavity and now I need a root canal 🙁 don't go here!

Will abruptly abandon care without even a decent referral. The last time my son had his teeth cleaned, staff was rude and said they weren't going to schedule his next appointment because they didn't have a hygienist. (Meanwhile, a new patient was doing paperwork for her kid.) For months this was the story, so I call again nearly a year later and was told they don't clean teeth anymore and haven't done it since July. So why wasn't I ever able to get an appointment before July? Staff is dishonest. It's just as well, service was never great. I always felt like we got the "Medicaid treatment". Never spoke to my son except to instruct him on moving his mouth, he never even got a goody bag of dental hygiene items like he had always gotten everywhere else, and any info about his teeth I had to ask for because otherwise he'd finish and just leave without comment. Only thing I can say is the place is clean, appointments started on time, and always a quiet, peaceful waiting room.

Five stars for Five Star Dental!! Dr. Pham and his whole staff are incredible. I’m so glad I found this place after months of searching for a dentist who accepts Medicaid. I had a cavity I needed filled, and I’ve never had a shot be so painless before. He made the whole process quick and easy as possible on me, even though my cavity was in a hard place to reach. I’d recommend Dr. Pham to anyone and will be returning for any dental work needed.

So far, so good. I have now had 2 root canals (in 3 weeks time) by Dr. Pham, as they are one of the few dentists in the area who accept adult Medicaid for dental work. Staff is nice, but there is not a dental hygienist on staff. (So they refer you to the dental student program at VaWestern Community College. Which actually worked out great for our family. We all got our cleanings for free over a 5 week period, one visit per week.) But as far as 5 Star Dental, no real complaints yet.

Dr Pham is the most gentle, thorough, and nice dentist I've ever gone to. I'm old, so that is saying something. Everyone in his office that I have had contact with is also kind and professional. The office is lovely and always sparkling clean. These things are important and are why he is the only dentist that I don't spend days dreading my next appointment. in case I've not been clear, I highly reccomend him. 🙂
