Hace algunos dias lleve a mi hija de 9 años a su cita , me mandaron a esta clinica porque supuestamente aqui hay especialista en niños , le iban a sacar un diente frontal porque no se le caia , los dientes nuevos lo empujaron hacia enfrente , a mi hija le da miedo , se pone muy nerviosa cuando va al dentista asi es que comenzo a llorar y no se dejo hacer nada , una de las asistentes se noto muy molesta por eso , entonces mi hija se sento y la asistente tomo una gasa y le saco el diente asi a la fuerza con la mano, sin siquiera preguntarme primero , por supuesto que mi hija lloro mucho, esa asistente fue muy ruda con ella y nada profesional.

Me: "Doctor I have a bone spike growing out of my gums cutting me tongue" Doctor: "oh crap you do. We need you to come in for that asap" Me: "Front desk, doctor says I need to come in for a bone spike coming out of my gums. Doc says for me to come in asap." Front Desk: "well we only schedule for that up to 3 days out and we have nothing open." Me: "Doc says come in asap" Front desk: "Well that doesnt matter, we only schedule for that up to 3 days out and have nothing available." This place is disgusting. The front desk staff gate keep important appointments and refuse scheduling.

The dentist and assistant I saw were kind and professional, although everything during the appointment felt very rushed. I get the impression they are either short staffed or incredibly overworked. In either case, whoever manages this place should be held responsible, and not the patient care staff who are clearly doing their best. During my appointment, I noticed a used flosser on the ground, which is unsettling and hopefully not symbolic of their attentiveness to cleanliness. The administrative staff was remarkably rude. After my appointment, I was instructed to go to the front desk to make a cleaning appointment, at which point I waited, only to be told that I need to call to make the appointment. At the time of writing this, I've been on hold for 59 minutes. I get that this is an OHP and low income clinic so I don't expect it to be perfect but not picking up the phone is a literal barrier to accessing care, and that's not ok.

Everyone who answers the phone here is extremely unhappy with their lives. I’ve never experienced such blatant disrespect and anger from people when simply trying to make an appointment

Everyone was nice for the most part, but I felt rushed and did not have my questions answered in depth. The hygienists barely spoke to me past the screening questions, and then I was ignored. The doctor couldn’t give me a straight answer regarding oral care, and seemed distracted or uncaring. A student hygienist took my X-rays (I wasn’t asked prior if a student assistant was okay, which usually happens at other offices) and they were the most painful X-rays I’ve ever had. I could tell she was inexperienced, and at one point she knocked the device loose with her hand, jamming it into the roof of my mouth. I tasted blood. Not a good experience, wish I didn’t have to go back but unfortunately options for dental care with OHP are limited.

I've been begrudgingly going here for years because it's close to me and they take my insurance. I scheduled an appointment in September 2024 for a specific issue, and had the office call me on two separate occasions just hours before to tell me that the dentist just wasn't in that day, that they just forgot to tell me in advance, and that the only openings were a month out. It's now mid January 2025, and I have since had two consultations that have just reaffirmed the needed treatment. Seemingly the dentist they assigned me is only available one day a month so who knows when I'll be able to get this fixed. I'm currently looking for somewhere else that takes my insurance after trying to reschedule on the phone, only to be told in a dismissive manner "no you have to call back another day". No need to go somewhere that is consistently abrasive.

Uh, hello, just had to write a review on the excelsior service at this clinic. The front desk is on the ball, specifically Stephanie in scheduling. I've literally never seen someone follow through on care so prompt and accurate, it's like I'm taking time to catch up to do my part. It's hard to believe this is a county clinic. I love my dentist who is also seeing my kids. He caught a mass in my son's gums that had not been caught by any other x-ray to date. I feel like they care about doing a good job. Def recommend.
