Great Expressions Dental Centers - Riverside

I am not one to write reviews, but I wanted to share my about my wonderful experience at this office. As a person who has always had very bad anxiety at the dentist, today was the first ever that I did not. Upon arriving I was checked in and called back rather quickly.( It’s not something that usually happened very often at the other dental practices I used to go to in the past). I was scheduled for a deep cleaning for one half of my mouth and had the pleasure of meeting and getting my mouth deep cleaned by Sonya. She was very kind, and gentle. I felt comfortable under her care. So much so, that I wanted to make sure that I scheduled the cleaning for the other half of my mouth with her. I highly recommend this office! 😊

The front desk was attentive, smiled during interaction and was engaging. My wait was short. I immediately had my X-rays completed and the dentist came in shortly thereafter. I believe she was very thorough and explained all of the procedures she recommended. I was given a cost breakdown and payment options were reviewed. Great first impression. Not excited to need dental work, however confident in the staff performing it

The clinical team here is genuinely outstanding- the hygienist, the doctor, and the front desk receptionist have all been warm, professional, and caring. Finding a dental office where you actually feel comfortable in the chair is rare, and they deliver that. Unfortunately, my experience has been significantly impacted by the claims/office manager, who has been dismissive from day one and at one point intimidating when I had routine billing questions. This role is patient-facing and sets the tone the moment you walk in. For someone who already has dental anxiety, that matters a lot. It’s a shame because the care itself deserves 5 stars. Hopefully management takes patient feedback on the full experience seriously.

Staff very friendly. I was extremely nervous, I’m so used to paying hundreds of dollars but they took my insurance & fixed my tooth in the same day. Amoff was nice, didn’t have a lot of conversation but did tell me what I needed done in the near future & suggested a simple plan of action. Idk why the yelp reviews are so bad then again I guess it was years ago. My experience was fine. I definitely plan on going back to get what I need done 🙂

I strongly believe Great Expressions should not be allowed to remain in business. After my trusted dentist of over a decade retired, I turned to Great Expressions and visited the Heath Road location as a new patient. The dentist created a treatment plan and repaired a chipped resin deposit, but the repair was poorly done—it didn’t even attempt to match the color of my teeth. The office manager, Mariea, told me they couldn’t generate the treatment plan on-site and would email it to me. That was January 8, 2025. Despite multiple follow-up calls, I have yet to receive anything. Today, I called the Riverside location hoping to start fresh, but was met with extreme rudeness from Davina when I tried to explain my situation and request an appointment. Her dismissive attitude was the worst customer service I’ve experienced in years. Dental care is about trust, professionalism, and compassion. Unfortunately, Great Expressions has failed on all counts. I’ve decided to seek care elsewhere. In today’s world, finding good customer service feels like a lost art—and this company is proof of that.

The building is really dated. The personnel there are friendly. However, I have been to at least 3 Great Expression offices and this office charges the most for dental cleaning, especially the regular hygienist at this Riverside location. I believe I have seen two other hygienists (maybe temps) at this Riverside location and the regular hygienist charges more. I am not sure if she is adding on services that I do not necessarily need. Today, she said I signed a treatment plan that I do not sincerely recall signing (and I may have). However, I am done with this office as I have always thought they charged more than other offices.

The dental office is dated and dingy. They have a sign at check in that threatens to reschedule your appointment if you're more than 10 minutes late yet they lack the same courtesy for their customers. I got to the office prior to my 12pm appointment and was still waiting at 12:40pm to be seen. I was looking to establish a new primary dentist but I canceled my appt and I will not be going back. They need to do better at scheduling - waste of time.
