I love going to Dr. Chan for my dental care! He and his staff (Katherine, Jenn, Cindy, and Anna) are always welcoming, kind, and caring. Not only am I getting my dental needs taken care of, but I also get an education on healthier practices to ensure that I take good care of myself. Seeing Dr. Chan at work is like watching an artist working on his masterpiece. He makes sure that his patients are comfortable before, during, and after the procedure and that he gets it done right! And, Dr. Chan is a huge Star Trek fan. In my book that makes him the coolest dentist, ever!!!

Dr. Chan and his whole staff (assistants, hygienists, and front-office booking/billing/admin) are absolutely terrific. Top quality care; Dr. Chan is a great listener and explains the care plan clearly and encourages questions. The care is efficient, compassionate, the admin side is efficient, flexible, and straightforward - no surprises. I’ve had a lot of dental work (just my genes) and this practice has earned my trust and confidence.

Dr Chan is a wonderful dentist. He has a wealth of experience and takes time to explain what is going on with your procedures. He welcomes questions and really seems to care about making your teeth and bite better.

I've been a patient of Dr. Chan (and Gaithersburg Dental) for 30+ years. In that time, he has done everything from cleanings ... to fillings ... to crowns; and with very few exceptions, I have not had to have any of his work "redone", even after decades of being in my mouth, and subject to some pretty intense grinding. Dr. Chan has always been proactive with my dental care ... never waiting until a problem develops before taking action. He makes recommendations based on a professional evaluation of my teeth ... electing to install a filling/onlay before it becomes a larger issue or cracks the tooth. I appreciate that. I've always been an advocate for keeping as much of my original teeth as possible; and Dr. Chan has been respectful of that ... never over-recommending work or needless treatment. Dr. Chan has always taken the time at each examination to explain what he sees and why he is recommending any followup service. Since I feel compelled to balance out an otherwise glowing review with something less favorable, I will say that their pricing is not for the faint of heart. Although I haven't compared pricing from other dentists, I have from time-to-time been surprised at the charges. But if you're making your dental decisions on quality rather than price, you can't go wrong with Gaithersburg Dental and trusting Dr. Chan with your oral care.

As of the date of this review, I've been a patient of Dr. Chan for more than 16 years, and I can confidently say he is the best dentist I’ve ever had. Over the years, I’ve received just about every service—extractions, crowns, root canals, cleanings, teeth whitening, and fillings—and every single experience has been excellent. Dr. Chan is incredibly conscientious about pain management, ensuring every procedure is as comfortable as possible. He takes the time to explain every procedure in as much or as little detail as the patient prefers, which I really appreciate. His humility, friendliness, empathy, and approachable nature make even the most daunting dental work a stress-free experience. His staff is just as fantastic—friendly, thoughtful, and reflecting the same kindness and professionalism that he does. They go out of their way to make each visit smooth and comfortable, creating a welcoming and supportive environment. My only regret? Knowing that he must someday retire! Until then, I’ll continue to trust him with my dental care, and I wholeheartedly recommend him to anyone looking for an outstanding dentist.
