I went to this Student Dental clinic after I had been turned down by 3 other dentist. They simply said it was too complicated. I went in at 6:45 am for this lottery thing and there were seven people waiting that day and all seven were seen and treated. The charge you agree to is $205. For xrays, consultation, and 1 tooth extraction. However my problems were more extensive and the dentist that treated me was Jon and his assistant. He pulled the 1 tooth as per the $205 agreement. Great job. Then we went on to remove 2 other teeth. These had to be cut out because they were growing sideways below the gum line. He did a great job cutting them out and I could tell it was difficult. They then stitched my gums up and after the shots wore off I was in a lot of pain. Now it's 3 days later and I am so happy. I definitely recommend Jon and the whole process. The total cost for the 3 teeth removed and surgery and a great sew up job was only $365. This was October 28, 2025
I went with this provider to have my wisdom teeth removed, and the entire process took almost six months. My initial appointment was rescheduled without any notice—no call, no warning. On the day of the procedure, I was informed that my insurance would no longer cover the operation, despite prior confirmation from both myself and the doctor that it was 100% covered. After some back and forth, I was only able to get half of the planned procedure completed. Following the operation, I woke up alone in a corner of the lobby, with no one around. I wasn’t given any post-operative care instructions or follow-up information. I have stitches, but I don’t know whether they need to be removed or how to care for them. I've called more than eight times and left four voicemails over the past six days, but no one has returned my calls. They consistently fail to answer the phone. To make matters worse, the receptionist has been incredibly rude and unprofessional throughout this experience.
Wasn't sure what to expect. Showed up at 6:45 for the lottery system , there were 10 of us and all 10 got seen . (Do not show up after 7am they will turn you away) anyways I was promptly taken back for xrays within a hour (doctor doesn't arrive till around 8- 8:30) after x rays it took about 45mins to be taken back to the room full of dentist chairs and was started on pretty much immediately, they just did a few exams and recommended a few things but long story short they took out my 3rd wisdom tooth within 30mins . The two students to excellent care of me .. also Dr Caputo supposedly gets a bad rap for some reason but was super respectful to me . They are doing gods work 🙌🏼
I went in today for the 7am lottery system. There were 9 of us and we all got seen. Very easy process to get checked in, make payment, get X-rays. It was $195 for panoramic X-rays, exam, and tooth extraction. After X-rays, I was taken back quickly. I had the best dental students!!! My tooth was gone almost into the gum. I wasn’t sure they’d be able to do it. They both were so nice. They were sure I was numb. It took aloooot to numb me, they ended up asking the professor for a different one because it was a struggle. I did need my gums cut a bit so they could extract, but they got it out in one piece!! Super impressed. I had such a good experience, that I am likely going to forgo insurance and pay out of pocket to let the students finish the other work I need. Definitely recommend. Don’t be afraid to speak up! They students will listen!
Unfortunately one of worst dental experiences. I have been at 2 other dental clinics as my teeth are troublesome since I was young. The Prosthodontics area spends a lot of time telling you how expensive its going to be. I wanted to move forward, they just dropped me even after they made the appointment. I think they just thought I did not have the money and moved on to other prospects. They were cold and superior. This should have been handled in another way, not this hurtful and degrading way.
You call about a follow up appointment and they never call back, I even called from January for a appointment for my child they told me they would call me when it opened a spot in August and never called back while the care is great props to dentist and students the staff are of no help never pick up the phone, never return calls, why bother leaving a voicemail when no one calls back and the message on their about their offices being closed is so old it is not use our offices will be closed September it's November now why do you still have that message!!!!
Not too particularly fond how the facilty is run, this is no way a remark on the actual students. However if I show up early, watch multiple people trickle in at 630/7 and they get called before me that makes me upset. I sat here and waited for 3 hrs just to be told that my name wasn't pulled. Yall need a fire come first served list or something. My one and only experience with UF I don't think I will be back ever.
