I went to this place back in 2021 since I needed someplace to go last minute for a tooth emergency. Let me start off with I knew something was wrong when I gave my info to the receptionist and she pulled me to the side and told me that the owner is a known scammer and had fraud multiple people (showed me articles) and that day was her last day and she was leaving because she was tired of him watching 🌽 at work (I wish I was making that up) Footnotes *The place wasn’t the cleanest in the back my *dentist told me my insurance didn’t cover things after i rejected extra work (insurance was checked before i could go in the back) *The owner called me a month later and asked me for my social security number over the phone and when I expressed I wasn’t comfortable with that he yelled at me and told me he was going to send me to collections *he sent me a text message immediately after claiming to put my "job" at risk with collections and never wanted to work with anyone in my field of work again 🤣 *Received collection bill for $800 with his name on it and yup the own has a fraud history in New Jersey when you google his name (same articles I was shown)
Where do I even start? I started going to this place because it was opened on weekends. The first couple experiences were not bad, but every time I go the staff would be new. I went one time to get an X-ray and cleaning done and Dr. Hellbig had no regard for my mouth! I had to stop her and tell her she was too rough, and her reply was it’s supposed to hurt. I told her I’ve had a regular clean that hurt before and if she continues then I’ll have to stop. Not to mention the office was dirty on that particular day. Garbage bins were filled and overflowing and there was blood on the chair… I should’ve turned back right there and then. They never put the lead apron on you when conducting X-rays and when questioned they say their machine is "safe". These people overcharge your insurance especially if you’re not in-network and when questioned they "ban" you. My pet peeve came after I stopped going to this dental office but they billed my insurance! When I inquired about it, I was told that they were never paid for the services rendered six months ago… LIES and then the insults started. Yes insults from a dental office via email. See below. Do yourself a favor and save yourself the headache. This place is not worth it. ALSO DO YOUR RESEARCH ON THE OWNER!!!!!!!
Make Sure you know what your insurance covers before walking in here!!! Ask questions! Ask for a detailed printout of the procedures you have addressed by this office and your payments, be sure to compare it to your insurance statement for accuracy. I'm not saying they are dishonest, but their actions can surely make you question theirs! This place has a "PAY ME UPFRONT MENTALITY" without checking the insurance coverage. I almost paid for a procedure that was fully covered by my insurance. I give the The staff and dentist 5 stars because they were kind and pleasant! However the establishment owner is all about the money and ready to take yours, trying to confuse you into thinking your insurance doesn't cover the intended procedure. I completed the necessary procedure only cause I needed it but vowed I would never cross their threshold again. My guess is $$, and patients are dwindling now because they keep calling me to schedule an appointment.
I only used 1 star because there's no option for "0"...This has been my worst experience and I never even made it to the chair. I left a deposit for an implant. After researching Dr. Andrew Marin, I was appalled by the reviews. I should have known when he said to me...."If I go in and think you need bone grafting, then I will do it..." He should have been able to determine that from the x-rays... The person who answers the phone is rude, abrupt and pretty much angry. The office "manager" is no better. He still has yet to refund my $ which he promised to do 2 days ago. Then when I call, I'm spoken to like a pig..."Oh well...." The office is never open. I'm just appalled...Dr. Marin has no Bio, reviews, or references. I should have done my research prior to leaving a deposit.
I love my dentist ( she is amazing ) and the people that work there. I have a problem with the owner- Andrew Maron who is very unprofessional. My daughter had her annual cleaning done and was billed $2249.60. Not only did he bill the wrong insurance company, he sent me to collection for that bogus fees. I called to asked why I sent to collection and was informed that i didn't do my part. even though i went into the office and provided them with the correct insurance information. This experience has left a very bad taste in my mouth. As much as i love my dentist, i will not be going back there after i'm done. I will go somewhere else where i can get the service i deserve.
This is the worse place. I called to set up an appointment to see a oral surgeon, they said he is only there on a Sunday. I went the first Sunday with a X ray but it was not showing my wisdom teeth. Then I made another appointment. When I took the correct X Ray some lady said I need to see the oral surgeon in the first place that’s why I went there. After a few mins the receptionist came to talk to me about getting my wisdom teeth remove. First him as the face of the company it’s so disgusting, when he stands up you see his brief which is very unprofessional. When I ask him why are you giving me information and not the surgeon, the surgeon was no way to be found. If I could have give them 0 they would of get one. This place has no ORAL SURGEON.
If I could give 0 stars I would. Front desk was very friendly, that's about the only positive. Arrived early, x-ray taken soon after arrival, then waited about 1.5-2 hours to be brought into the back. Once back there I was placed in the last examination chair at the end of the row and sat there for about 30 minutes. Sitting there and looking around it was obvious that there was a lack of care in the practice. Dust, dirt, and grime was visible on most of the ground, and surfaces I saw. Didn't look like the cleanest place in the world. I understand you may be understaffed, or over worked, but a clean environment should be a huge priority in any medical field. After waiting for a long time, forgot to mention I went in for an emergency, the dentist finally came in took 1 look at the X-rays, told me I needed a medication and then left. I waited hours, to get less than 3 minutes of the dentist' time. So a couple days go by and I'm having intense pain again, so I call back and basically say "hey I need my tooth taken care of ASAP," I was told that there were no openings till the following week and that I should go see another dentist if I wanted it taken care of sooner. So that's what I did. Not to mention there were no calls to see when I'd have liked to go back in to "finish" the root canal (they never even started it unless you consider them prescribing an antibiotic). Other dentist was great, took care of my tooth and everything was good. But then I get a call regarding the bill from GTown Dental Spa and since I went to see another dentist and had to get another X-ray done (Dental Spa was unable to send my X-rays) I had to pay for the X-ray and "examination" out of pocket since the other dentist put in the claim for the x-ray, etc. So I just paid over $600 to come in, get an X-ray, sit for hours, get seen by the dentist for less than 3 minutes, and sent on my way with an antibiotic. I get that things cost money and I admit that the X-ray was fair, but to be charged hundreds of dollars for a less than 3 minute "examination" was a big slap in my face. I will never be going back to this dentist again.
