Gentle Dental Bend

La señora de la recepción es bastante descortés y tiene una mala actitud, no se si así será todos los días, pero es muy difícil sentirse cómodo esperando. Por otro lado la señora que te toma las fotos si es muy amable y muy compasiva. Actualmente el lugar no cuenta con limpieza de dientes por falta de personal.

The first few years of my engagement with Gentle Dental Bend were great, this year was a flop. No hygienist in the bend office meant being referred to Redmond for a cleaning that was pushed out nine months. Most recently I attended a filling and re-facing on the buckle of a lower bicuspid. It was Dr. Pennington’s last week… I thought he performed well, He was fast efficient, and hummed a pleasant melody throughout the whole procedure. When flossing later that night, a chunk of that filling came out… I want to blame this on the assistant who failed to set properly. I think it’s appropriate to discriminate based on age and Poor eyesight. I left a message reporting this failure with a request to be contacted for repair. It’s been seven days and no one has reached back out to me. The missing filling is visible and highly sensitive. The office as a whole is robotic and lacking a compassionate quality. All patients are now being referred to Redmond Where the chances of getting an appointment within the year or Slim. There is something viscerally wrong with dentistry in Bend, Oregon…. At least with Gentle Dental.

I called and got a same day appointment for a dental emergency. Extremely kind and friendly hygienist and doctor! This kind of service generally doesn’t exist any more in Bend. I’m extremely grateful.

I have been a patient at the Bend OR office for a few years now until a few days ago. While I have good things to say about the providers and feel quality of care has been good, I can't say the same about the front office and scheduling. Follow up by the front office is very spotty. What works is to pester them with messages daily until they finally call back. You typically will get VM. Likewise, contacting a provider is difficult because you have to rely on the front office to get the message through. Appointment scheduling is often months out and providers and hygienists tend to turnover rapidly. A cleaning I had scheduled mysteriously vanished off their books and I found out they had no hygienist. I received no communications or updates about this. I am going elsewhere. Also, emergency care is provided by showing up at 7am and hoping to be seen. I showed up 15 minutes before to get my name on the list and was seen, but it's a bad business model - hoping to be seen.

Similar experience with this dentist as other complaints. We had a second treatment for a cavity for my some they cancelled on me the day of after rescheduling several times for not confirming the appt. I never cancelled so that means it’s confirmed. They said it needed to be by a call or text and I was never informed of this. Absolutely ridiculous. Today they called and said the dentist i just we her hand and can’t do the procedure the day of. The after expressing my anger, they said it’s just an application and doesn’t require a dentist. Why did we wait 3 months then when someone else could have done it. Then suddenly I was put on hold and was told just bring him in as the dentist said will do the treatment now. WTH
