Baystate Dental of Belchertown

Baystate Dental was top notch! Everyone in the office was extremely friendly and made me feel very comfortable despite my anxiety around going to the dentist! My hygienist, Theresa, was compassionate and understanding with my concerns. My cleaning was amazing and gentle! Dr Calle was professional and great about taking the time to explain everything so I understood! The office manager, Kim, was outstanding too helping me set up my appointments and signing up for Aetna Dental Access Network(which I highly recommend)! You can tell they all work together as a team! Kudos to you all!

The place is a joke. There is so much turnover of staff. They are ZERO percent understanding of needing to bring your kids with you to a cleaning if you're stuck without childcare. They made an absolutely unnecessary big deal out of it, and I got a lecture on how it's germy so they shouldn't be there... How is it too germy for them to sit quietly and read books, but it's not too germy for them to have their cleanings there and for me and the younger one to be there while the older one gets a cleaning??? Make it make sense. Never going back there again, so unprofessional. Wish is could rate them zero stars. My husband said it best, "for a family dentist, they are not very family friendly." So I will be finding a place that is. Not to mention all their screw ups over the years that I've stupidly given them the benefit of the doubt for. They are money-hungry, incompetent, and rude

The Dentist and Dental technician are very pleasant and make you feel at ease from initial interaction until you leave. They were super helpful in getting the proper referral request submitted to the VA making the understand that I needed dental work as a medical necessity. They use start of the art equipment and procedures ensuring that the dental work gets done correctly. I have an upcoming wedding and they are doing everything possible to have my new teeth finished before the big day. Im very pleased with the whole experience so far. I would highly recommend them to anyone looking for a pleasant dental experience, if there is such a thing lol. They work with Veterans through the Community Care Network. I know they dont recieve the same dental compensation as they would from other insurances which shows to me they care about our Veteran community especially those who are 100% disabled Veterans.

I had a couple teeth prepared for crowns a little over a week ago and had temporary crowns on my teeth while awaiting the permanent ones. I started to experience increasing pain throughout the week and the office got me right in TWICE over the course of the week that I was in pain despite the fact they were closed for a day due to a blizzard. They reassured me that it didn’t seem as if I newly damaged any teeth and educated me on how one angry tooth nerve can aggravate many of the ones next to it. They removed my temporary crowns and placed my permanent ones. I woke up this morning pain free, able to chew again and with hardly any sensitivity at all!! They also already have a plan in place for JUST IN CASE that tooth does continue to bother me. This place is great, I’ll share my positive experience every single time. As someone with serious dental anxiety, I am looking forward to continuing to improve the health of my teeth and smile with Dr. Bowen, his dental assistants and the secretaries in the front. Years ago I was a patient at the Springfield location and I only remember positive experiences there as well. I believe the entire "Baystate Dental" system is amazing. Very well managed and run. The employees all seem very comfortable and happy as well which is an indicator that you will recieve great care.

First time & last time!!!!!!! The dentist assistants and the dentist was really nice. The secretary in the front needs to learn how to talk to people. She was extremely rude. She needs to understand that taking care of a disabled person is alot of work. I also know that people are typically allowed at 10 to 15 minute grace if they are running at little late. I checked in... 5 minutes late. This was also my 1st time being at this dentist cause im new to the area. I did NOT feel WELCOMED at all. Before the young secretary could get a word out to assist me , another secretary yelled out to me YOUR APPOINTMENT WAS AT 2 , I was confused because im like yes I've made its 2: 05 , she looked at me ( as if she was thinking to say oh you have to reschedule)and said I'll let it go but next time be on time , I could understand if I was 20 minutes late or didn't show but I was 5 minutes late , the correct way to handle someone walking in 5 minutes late , is HI WELCOME, SO HAPPY U COULD MAKE IT. Instead she be littled me Out loud and came off rude and dismissive. We will not be going back to a place that made me cry. I felt dehumanized.... the young secretary in the front saw how upset I was , she just shook her head and in a low tone said....I'm sorry I don't know what her problem is , she quietly checked me in.

I want to give more than 5 stars. Simply a great experience all around. Dr. Bowen and his assistant have a great dynamic working together and are funny as well. I enjoyed their banter, it helped the anxiety I always face at the dentist. I typically hate getting dental work done and they made it as an enjoyable experience as possible seemingly effortlessly. Dr. Bowen’s assistant (I really wish I remember her name, long dark hair assisted with my root canals and filling on 2/17/26) is SO personable and friendly, she actually felt like a friend that just so happened to be working in my mouth. Dr. Bowen also made me feel not so distressed about how badly I grind my teeth at night and gave me a plan that I understand/am content with and seems as if it will prolong the life of my teeth. Thank you!!

Jubilee has the best beside manner ever! She used breathing techniques to help me relax. I was so relaxed!!! Dr.Bowen was also amazing I didn’t feel a thing when he administered the novacaine or extracted my tooth! His soft spoken gentle demeanor is refreshing when you don’t like going to the dentist.
