Dr. Chao is truly exceptional. I had the pinhole surgical technique done for gum recession over two years ago, and my gums still look healthy, thick, and strong today. The results have held beautifully. The entire staff has been consistently kind, professional, and attentive throughout the process and follow-ups. I’m incredibly grateful for the care and expertise I received and would highly recommend this office to anyone dealing with gum recession.

I have had a great experience over the past few years with Dr. Chao and his team, and the photos to prove it below! The top row is from before my pinhole procedure in 2022 and the bottom photos are from a recent office visit in December 2025. You can see the improvements and how my gum line looks better. My hands were shaking the entire trip there. I hadn’t gone to the dentist in over 20 years because of a horrible experience that left me feeling deeply ashamed, anxious, and fearful. After that, I avoided dentists entirely and tried to do my best at home. I was referred to Dr. Chao by another dentist I had just seen for my gum recession concerns, and I’m so glad I went. I was genuinely scared I might lose a tooth if I didn’t act quickly, but I was also embarrassed and bracing to be scolded for waiting so long. I was afraid I would be judged again. Instead, Dr. Chao and his wonderful team treated me with so much kindness, patience, and professionalism. No judgment. No lectures. They made me feel safe and supported, and they explained everything clearly. For the first time, I left a dental office feeling calm and cared for. Dr. Chao recommended the pinhole procedure, and I’m extremely grateful I had it done. I had mostly swelling and mild throbbing after, but it was extremely easy to manage. I’m still healing, but I can already smile confidently again, and I truly didn’t think I’d feel this relieved, like a great burden has been lifted from me. It feels like my smile has been given back to me, and I’ve reclaimed some of the years I lost to fear. If you’re anxious or afraid of being judged, I can’t recommend Dr. Chao and his incredible team enough. I’m so grateful I found them.

I searched for the BEST dentist in this world who could help me with my receding gum problem and I found Dr Chao and his miraculous pinhole technique ! He saved my gum and from losing my teeth! He deserves 5 star +++++++ ! I have always received the best care I have ever experienced at each visit, with great attention to details, and his caring and skilled staff always makes you feel calm and relax. Although I moved to Arizona recently I drive all the way to Alhambra for my regular teeth cleanings . I trust him 100% for all my dental needs..he is the BEST dentist I ever had in my life.

I had the pinhole surgery done and I am very pleased with the results. The care and detail Dr. Chao and his staff provided was excellent. Dr. Chao took the time to made sure that I prepared my gums for the surgery and made certain the recovery was progressing as expected. I had the graft surgery done before so I had something to compare it to. The recovery was much shorter and results are fantastic! From this experience I feel Dr. Chao has given me the knowledge how to take care of my teeth and gums going forward as well. He is the pinhole gum surgery expert and takes pride in refining his craft.

My mother has had issues with her teeth for decades, and have hopped from dentist to dentists for ages, always complaining about being nickeled and dimed until she started coming here. Dr Chao is clearly one that truly cares about his patients. I am truly thankful to always hear how he takes care of my mother's issues. If you are someone who needs a trustworthy dentist who truly cares, look no further.

From my most recent experience (2 days ago) back to many years ago with my first appointment with Dr. Chao, both he and his staff have always made me feel like I am the most important patient there. If his staff sees me nervous they will talk with me and try to get my mind off of whatever procedure is coming. If Dr. Chao sees me nervous he is very calming and explains everything he is going to do so there are no surprises. He does everything possible to make every procedure as painless as possible! Dr. Chao has a special technique for giving shots which are virtually painless (you feel a tiny poke, that's it!), which makes a BIG impact on not being as afraid as I was growing up with dental procedures. I wish I had him as a dentist when I was growing up. My teeth and health have improved since I've been going to him for all my dental care. Thank you Dr. Chao and staff!
