Alameda Smiles

I started with Alameda Smiles for my cleaning. Doctor Chen was a nice guy but the doctors kept changing on almost my every visit. I did a deep cleaning and it was no different than the regular cleaning and cost me as deep cleaning price. Oww, pricing. I was being told different prices before and after treatments. I had to convince the associate that she has misinformed me about the estimates but she always defended herself as "this is just an estimate" and it doesn't sound just ethical. Patients have the right to know the exact price of what to pay, at least close to that but what I was being told was usually much different than their "estimate". Anyways. I finally cut my services and started with my previous Dentist's office.

Dr. Chan is a great doctor, caring and understanding. BUT their policy for charging the patient is terrible. They charged me double for the first failed treatment and they claim they don't guarantee the work! It's also quite impossible to reach them and they get angry at you for not being able to reach. That being said, I wish they would be more thoughtful for charging the patients.

Dr. Desai was wonderful! Very informative, mindful and gentle, made sure to check in with me regularly that I was doing ok and not in pain, and that I understood the treatment plan and my options. Did 6 small fillings in addition to a regular cleaning, all within 1.5 hours. They look and feel great so far, and no pain at all even that same night. The DA Sophia was on point, multi-tasking all over the place! Benita at the front desk was also excellent, with regular emails and calls about appointment rechedulings during COVID-19 times. Reasonable & adaptive service, undaunted by my ridiculously poor dental health; must've had nearly 2 dozen cavities worked on by now, multiple fillings/repairs, and 1 root canal. Smiles/ Dr.Chan provided efficient/reliable care throughout all.

Their customer service is so bad they wasted my time and they don't talk to you politely don't waste your time

I drive from San Jose to Dr Chan's practice because everyone from the office manager to the dental assistant and Dr Chan himself provide the best care of anyone I could hope for. They're professional ability is matched by their caring attitude and friendly demeanor. I highly recommend Dr Chan.
