I hadn't had a checkup/cleaning since before the pandemic, and needed a few fillings. Also I was looking for an office that accepted Care Source (Medicaid) and happened upon an advertisement for the Locust Dental Group while visiting the Summit County DJFS building. Looking up reviews here, I was at first a bit wary, and frankly confused, because of the one and two star reviews contrasting with the four and five star ones. After making an appnt and having not only a cleaning but several fillings done over the course of two visits, I can confidently report that my experience was top notch. Everyone from Tyler at the front desk, to Dr. Ramin and the assistants who performed the procedures were competent, professional, friendly, and efficient. I never had to wait in the lobby more than five minutes, and the cleaning and fillings were done promptly, with all three visits being in and out in under an hour. My only complaint is that I wish I would've found out about this office a few years ago.

⭐☆☆☆☆ (If I could give zero stars, I would.) I would rather drive an extra 45 minutes for competent care than ever deal with this office again. From the very first phone call, the receptionist was rude, dismissive, and unprofessional for absolutely no reason. I called simply trying to schedule an appointment after being referred there, and the attitude started immediately. After trying to give them another chance and reschedule later on, I was apparently "banned" from scheduling altogether — which honestly tells me everything I need to know about how this office treats potential patients. This place was already a last-ditch effort for me because they’re one of the few offices in Akron that handles certain extractions and accepts walk-ins. Unfortunately, the terrible customer service only confirmed why I’ve always avoided using them as a primary dentist. I personally know several people who have had bad experiences and messed-up procedures here as well. Terrible customer service. Terrible professionalism. Last ditch effort office. Avoid if you value respectful treatment and quality dental care.

I originally came to Locust Dental Group just for a root canal, but the experience was so good that I ended up staying and making them my primary dentist. The staff was welcoming, professional, and took the time to explain everything clearly, which made a stressful situation way more comfortable. The work itself was smooth and pain-free, and I never felt rushed or brushed off. It is rare to find a dental office that makes you feel this at ease, but Locust Dental Group absolutely does. Highly recommend.

I had root canal and a molar taking out 17, 20 lol. Folk had me in fear with their stories of a root canal. My story is good. This was a very exhilarating experience. The Dentist made me feel important and cared a great deal about me not some second hand citizen. I was so filled with fear to make the appointment from prior experiences. It gave me faith in humanity and let me know all folks are not evil in this world. I received 5 ⭐ care. From the dentist and his assistant 😂especially being a big grown baby, they both were patient and very empathetic with me. I am happy I showed up in my fears. Now I feel comfortable making other appointments with the Dentist. They should receive some type of reward or acknowledgement for their gift of live they shared with me and others they encounter TY p.s. it bled a little otherwise no pain or real discomfort after surgery. I can't eat like I love to, and puree food ain't the same as solid, I live 😄

They play games too much when they tell you that you have 14 things wrong in your mouth and they’re taking four months just to get one part of your mouth 1/4 of your mouth completed And they push you out another month just to get 2/4 of your mouth done. They play too many games when most dentist office will want to get it done as soon as possible especially if it’s cavities this dentist place too many games and it’s not worth the time and it’s not the first person I heard and I’m sad. I had to experience it myself.

Dr. Jun Ming Liao was phenomenal! 30 minutes to do a root canal, and a wisdom tooth extraction, and an additional 30 minutes to put a temporary crown on by someone named Steph who was just as great! I didn’t catch the name of the assistant who helped, but she was great too! Being impressed is an understatement, I have never had a good experience with dentists until now. They explained everything so well, I barely had any questions to ask. Office looks clean, everyone is so nice! All smiles, and they even sing along to the songs playing on the speakers. It makes a rather stressful situation, light hearted and pleasant! I give the Locust Dental team a 10/10!!! Also, because of how effective Dr. Liao was, my pain is minimal, and that has never happened before because every other dentist I’ve been to, had been too rough. Overall amazing!!!
