West Asheville Family Dentistry

Beware of this place. The dentist told me I was going to need two crowns a year for the next few years. That made no sense to me and I have since seen two other dentists who said I don’t need any crowns. I’m giving them two stars only because the crown I did let them do, which I agreed I needed, they did a good job on.

These guys are great. I switched dentists and immediately the vibe was completely different. The staff here is great and always welcoming. The dentist is professional and does great work. I’ve visited 3 times now. No complaints here - would recommend!

Some good dentists but they dont stay. Also didnt want to use gold on a crown and there was conflicting info about if they even use gold, due to my seeing 3 dentists in a month. Also told me i needed to get a tooth pulled and new dentist saved it without any problem after i spent over $450 at the surgeon. Owner did not respond until i called his after hours phone and was not at all sympathetic. Maybe that is why there are new dentists. Front desk is great. Also old info on website - Dentist Lauren is two dentists ago.

0 stars. Both dentists in this office missed a root abscess multiple times with multiple x rays and visible discoloration. I found out after visiting an oral surgeon for a consultation. Then, the dentists at West Asheville Family tried to pressure me into more expensive procedures and replacing my other, healthy teeth with veneers. Three other opinions later, and I don’t trust anyone in this office to diagnose problems or create care plans that are in my best interest. Dr. Bernier has "whatever" bedside manner and was flirting with the female staff and was not able to answer my questions like I was adult. They are not clear with their payment terms and hit you with surprise $80 charges. The payment plan they offer is $30 less or the same price as a Delta Dental insurance plan. Save yourself thousands of dollars by getting that insurance plan and going somewhere else.

They schedule 2-3 months out, and when I finally got to my cleaning appointment I was 15 minutes late (exactly) and forced to reschedule 2 months later. I cancelled and never went back.

My family has been going to West Asheville Family Dentistry for many years. They have the BEST hygienist, Tracey! She is very good at explaining what’s going on & giving me tips on surviving x-rays & cleanings. They always get me in & out in a timely manner.

Made an appointment for my husband several months back ask if they took my insurance they said yes my husband goes in today for his appointment forgot his card called me and asked me for it. I sent it to him within 17 minutes during the 17 minutes of him waiting on me the front desk staff is hounding him He would need to reschedule if he doesn’t have a card it will be self-pay if he doesn’t have insurance he needs to do self-pay or reschedule. Remind you. We have waited months for this appointment and you can’t wait 17 minutes to get an insurance card l? rude front desk staff members I work in the healthcare industry and never would treat patient the way that my husband was treated today. Very disappointing. My husband was not rude. My husband was very kind to the lady at the front. She was very rude and hounding demanding that he reschedule need less to say We will never be back to this dentistry We will go to Arden to my Dentist where they treat you with respect,care where they give you time their time not hounding not pressure not you leaving Feeling worse than you did when you went in. Maybe you need to give your front desk staff training on how to treat customers. I’m sure not all are treated this way but my husband was I’m sure that there are some good qualities about this place, but not today. All patient should be treated equal, regardless of ability to pay race, or gender please do better. Please don’t do anybody else the way that you did my husband today.
